San Marcos schools to start late on Friday

San Marcos CISD classes will begin at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 4 because of anticipated snowfall tonight. Buses will run at 8:30 am, and there will be no multiple routes. Students of all grade levels will be picked up at the same time at the bus stops.

Teachers and staff are expected to arrive at their posts by 9 a.m. with transportation personnel arriving at 8 a.m.

Administrators are allowing for the possibility that bad road conditions might force a complete cancellation but “to be honest with you, the busses are probably all going to roll,” said Ernest Martinez, the district’s transportation director.

“If anything comes up, it might be a different story,” he added.
