Returning to the court this week after four weeks off, the San Marcos Academy (SMA) boys basketball team notched a 45-35 win at home Tuesday against Regents Academy.
The Bears led by as much as 43-24 early in the fourth quarter and emptied their bench. Ranked second statewide among private schools, the Bears improved to 15-2 overall and 4-0 in their district.
“Coming off the break, the boys played well from having such a long time off,” SMA coach Keila Price said. “It was good to get the entire team in the game.”
Currie Pipkins led the Bears with 14 points and nine rebounds.
The Bears return to action Wednesday night at home against San Juan Diego (8 p.m.).
