The San Marcos Public Library and a ten-county adult education cooperative are offering free classes for adults in English as a Second Language, GED test preparation and basic skills. Registration is starting this week for entrance to the classes.
Registration for new students for English as a Second Language will take place Monday and Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
Registration for GED students is Jan. 18 and Jan. 20 at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. Each registration session will take around two hours. Attendance at the two 1 p.m. sessions or the two 6 p.m. sessions is necessary to complete registration, orientation and assessment.
Those interested in volunteering to teach GED preparation, basic skills or English as a Second Language may stop by the library’s adult learning center for a volunteer application.
