Update: Man shoots himself outside Kyle hospital

UPDATE:

Kyle Police have identified the man who committed suicide on Thursday as 57-year-old Roy Lyman May.  May died by an apparent self inflicted gunshot wound. He resided in Kyle with family members and had previously lived in Arkansas.

The Kyle Police Department responded to a report of an attempted suicide on the grounds just outside the emergency room at Seton Medical Center – Hays in Kyle.

The Kyle Police Department has responded to a report of an attempted suicide on the grounds just outside the emergency room at Seton Medical Center Hays in Kyle.

Kyle Police were dispatched at 2:15 pm on Thursday, Jan. 6. When officers arrived at the scene, the victim was already inside the hospital receiving treatment for gunshot wounds to the chest from medical staff.

The victim, identified only as a male at this time, later died of his wounds. Identification of the victim is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. Kyle police are continuing their investigation and no other details were released.
