Updated: Man commits suicide outside Kyle hospital

The Kyle Police Department (KPD) has identified the man who committed suicide last week as Roy Lyman May, 57.

May died by an apparent self inflicted gunshot wound. He resided in Kyle with family members and had previously lived in Arkansas.

KPD responded to a report of a suicide on Jan. 6 on the grounds just outside the emergency room at Seton Medical Center–Hays in Kyle.

KPD was dispatched at 2:15 p.m. to the scene, where the victim already was inside the hospital receiving treatment for gun shot wounds to the chest. The victim, a male, later died of his wounds.
