Sam DeLeon is a fifth grader at Bowie Elementary School who maintains an “A” average while being a member of the choir and a member of the safety patrol.

After running a campaign this fall and giving a rousing speech, he was elected by his peers as president of the Bowie student council … Sam involves himself in all of these school activities while maintaining an A-Honor Roll status and meeting all academic expectation of the HORIZONS program. As a school leader, Sam assists in identifying ways to make the school a better place for students. He is truly a role model and a leader at Bowie.”

DeLeon says that math is his favorite subject, although science and reading are close seconds. He also enjoys playing basketball.

DeLeon’s grandmother is a judge in Carnes City and he said that he would like to follow in her footsteps and pursue a career in law.
