Cameron Johnson led six Texas State players in double figures Tuesday night as the Bobcats notched an 82-70 men’s basketball win against Texas-Pan American at Strahan Coliseum.
The Bobcats won a second straight game for the first time since they opened the season with two wins. They improved their record to 5-9 with the Southland Conference season starting Saturday at home against Northwestern State.
Ryan White added 13 points for the Bobcats, followed by Matt Staff with 11, Uriel Segura with 10 and Travis Jones with 10.
The Bobcats rolled to a 45-37 halftime lead as Johnson scored 17 of his points.
Texas-Pan American went on an 11-3 run to start the second half and rallied to tie the game twice in the last six minutes, but the Bobcats responded with scores each time and went on a 14-4 run to finish the game.
It was the Bobcats’ second win this year against the Broncos, who fell to 3-14. Brandon Provost led Texas-Pan American with 17 points.Email | Print
