The Tanger Outlet Center, exit 200 on Centerpoint Road, recently made holiday contributions to local law enforcement and fire prevention departments in San Marcos.

The San Marcos Police Department (SMPD) and the San Marcos Fire Department (SMFD) each received $600 donations from Tanger.

“It is an honor to recognize the members of our local police and fire,” said Michelle Carswell, general manager of the Tanger Outlet Center in San Marcos. “They are the backbone of our community and do so much to serve and protect us all year long.”

Said SMPD Chief Howard Williams, “We appreciate the support that we receive from local businesses like the Tanger Outlet Center. The money donated by Tanger will be put to good use.”

In 2010, Tanger also donated $10,414 to Central Texas Medical Center to battle breast cancer and help patients in the Hays County area. Nationally, Tanger has raised $9.2 million in support of breast cancer treatment and research.
