Representatives of Community Action accepting the check during half-time from Goodnight Middle Scool.
Representatives of the Goodnight Middle School Boys athletics presented a check for $1,159.70 to Community Action last month. The check was given out during halftime of a Goodnight eighth grade B Team basketball game. The effort was part of the Goodnight Giving Back campaign, sponsored by the Goodnight Athletic Boosters.
The check was accepted by Community Action’s patient navigator and program director Lydia Perez and other Community Action representatives.
The money was garnered during the last two home games of the school’s football season in October, which was Cancer Awareness Month. The Goodnight field was decorated in pink for the games and half of the proceeds of the concession stand for the two games was designated for Community Action’s breast cancer outreach and early detection program.
