Library to present Christmas concert with Destination

The trio Destination will perform a special Christmas Concert Wednesday at the San Marcos Public Library.

The San Marcos Public Library, 625 East Hopkins Street, will host a special Christmas concert with the trio Destination Wednesday at 7 p.m. Admission is free and the public is invited to attend.

Linda and Michelle Sriro along with Juli Dearrington are the members of Destination, a group that pays tribute to the Andrews Sisters. The trio also sings original material in its show. The group will present its Andrews Sisters Revue as an old time live radio show. Destination’s appearance has become a Christmas tradition at the library.

As in past Christmas shows, Destination will feature a special guest. This year’s guest will be actor Carl Galante, who will portray fictitious opera star Lambrusco Pepperoni, “the man who can sing anything.” The judgment of whether his billing is accurate will be left up to the audience as he joins Destination in singing many of the traditional Andrews Sisters-style songs.

The show promises to be a classic Destination show loaded with colorful costumes, favorite songs and fun for all ages.

Over the years, Destination has come to be one of the area’s most popular novelty acts.

“Our goal is to make sure that our audience has as much fun being entertained as we are having performing for them,” said Destination’s Juli Dearrington. “My favorite thing to do is watch as they sing along and remember the songs of a time not long forgotten.”

Destination will also perform in the Winter’s Eve Concert on the Square in Wimberley Saturday from , December 4th from 5:00 to 10:00 pm. and will feature the Destination trio as well as performances by Lee Colee and Linda Sriro and students of the Lee Colee Studio and Talent Agency.

Linda and her husband Ray may be familiar to some as members of Gypsy Moon, singing and playing  jazz renditions in the style of Django Reinhardt.
