Two inmates escaped early Wednesday morning from the Hays County Jail. Both were apprehended and back in custody within three hours.
At approximately 3:05 a.m., Francisco Chavez Medina, 31, of Kyle, and James Roland Moore, 38, of Austin, both broke free, each wearing his white jail clothing.
Jailers who discovered the escape notified all law enforcement agencies in Hays County and immediately began a search for their whereabouts.
At approximately 5:10 a.m., Moore was located and arrested. At approximately 6 a.m., Medina was arrested without incident.
Medina was being held on an indictment for continuous sexual assault and a detainer for immigration and customs enforcement, with his bond set at $75,000. Moore was being held on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and as a parole violator, with his bond set at $100,000.Email | Print
