Two basketball teams showed up at Strahan Coliseum Tuesday night and, between them, managed one good half of shooting. Unfortunately for the Texas State women’s basketball team, that half belonged to Idaho State.
The Bengals shot 50 percent in the second half (14 of 28) pulling away from Texas State for a 69-52 win.
With the loss, Texas State fell to 2-1 this season. Idaho State is 3-2.
Idaho State held a 31-25 halftime lead as both teams made nine field goals and neither shot better than 32.1 percent. But the Bengals filled up the basket in the second half, during which they made seven of 17 three-point attempts.
Chelsea Pickering of Idaho State led all scorers with 31 points. Anna Brzozowski led the Bobcats with 14 points, followed by Diamond Ford with 11.
The Bobcats will play again Saturday (2 p.m.) at Strahan Coliseum against Jackson State. Following that game, the Texas State men’s team will play North Texas.Email | Print
