Police investigate watch store robbery

The San Marcos Police Department (SMPD) is investigating the robbery of the Tourneau Watch Store by three men at approximately 9:20 a.m. last Friday.

Two employees were in the store, but no customers were present at the time of the robbery. Police said two males wearing dark colored hoodies with bandanas covering their faces entered the store. One threatened the store manager with a hammer.

The suspect with the hammer smashed several display cases and removed a large number of watches. The men fled the store and got into a white or silver four-door pickup truck. The truck was described as a three-fourths or one-ton truck.

The vehicle was driven by a third unknown subject. It was last observed leaving the mall towards the northbound access road of Interstate-35.

No one was injured during the robbery. The estimated value of the stolen merchandise was not released. Police are continuing their investigation.

The Tourneau Watch Store is located at the Tanger Outlet Mall on Interstate-35 South in San Marcos.
