The holiday season is a time filled with giving and entertaining. Central Texas Medical Center’s (CTMC) Institute for Healthy Living is offering, “Homemade Holidays,” a free healthy cooking demonstration on Wednesday, Dec. 1 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the CTMC Community Classroom.
The cooking demonstration will be lead by CTMC’s Dietary and Nutrition team and focus on a collection of homemade recipes to give as gifts. The program includes three unique recipes along with samples and handouts of the recipes.
“The holidays are a busy time and it’s important to maintain healthy eating habits while we are on the go and at gatherings,” said Alicia Westfall, CTMC food and nutrition manager. “People tend to eat more during the holidays, so making the right food choices can keep a healthy lifestyle in balance year round.”
The CTMC Institute for Healthy Living is pleased to offer a number of programs that emphasize living healthy and eating right. Programs and services include individual nutrition counseling, TOPS (Take Pounds Off Sensibly), LoneStart Wellness Initiative, Way 2 Go Kids, Boot Camp and more.
