Eleven Hays High School students make Region Choir

A Region IV choir concert set for Saturday at the Pflugerville ISD Performing Arts Center will include eleven Hays High School vocalists who made the cut after a very rigorous audition.

“I was extremely proud of all the students,” said Nancy Cavendish, director of the Hays High School choirs. “This was a tough audition in that they had to learn four pieces in four weeks. They all worked very hard.”

The students in the Region Mixed Choir include Ashley Loosier, Alaina McFadden, Cassidy Gotcher, Arianna Martinez, Peyton Perez, Sydney Rye, Erin Wieser, Paris Uch, Lane Cagle, Ely Allen and Ben Chida. Luke Leamons is an alternate. Kayleigh Soukup, Lindsey Yazbek, Shelby Luke, Natalie Lyon and Leonela Hernandez will perform in the Region Honor Treble Choir.

The students are now in the process of learning four more selections for the concert.
