The San Marcos Public Library, 625 East Hopkins, has paired with the Ten County Adult Education Cooperative to offer free classes in English as a Second Language, GED test preparation and basic skills.
Registration for GED/Basic Skills part one will take place on Tuedsday at 1 or 6 p.m. Part two will be on Thursday at 1 p.m. or 6 p.m. Registrants must attend two sessions for registration, orientation and assessment.
Volunteers are often needed to assist students or teach GED preparation, basic skills or English as a Second Language. Those who are interested in volunteering and who can make a weekly commitment may stop by the library to pick up a volunteer application or call the Learning Center at (512) 393-8215.
