Sam Huenergardt has been named as the new president and chief executive officer for Central Texas Medical Center . He will officially begin responsibilities at the 178-bed facility on Dec. 6.
Huenergardt is currently serving as chief operating officer for Gordon Hospital, an Adventist Health System facility located in Calhoun, Ga. Since joining in 2005, he has strengthened the financial position of the hospital by opening more managed care relationships and focusing on improving productivity.
Prior to joining Gordon Hospital, Huenergardt served as Controller at Shawnee Mission Medical Center, also an Adventist Health System hospital, in Shawnee Mission, Kan. He holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Baker University and a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Administration from Union College. An avid golfer, Huenergardt and his wife, Melissa, are the proud parents of two young children, Christian and Chloe.
“We selected him for his extensive experience in physician relationships, personal involvement in community activities and proven success at efficiently operating hospital services,” said Ken Finch, president and CEO of the Adventist Health System Southwest Region. “
Gary Jepson, the hospital’s former CEO, announced in September his departure from CTMC after nine years at the helm.
“I am honored and blessed to serve in this new capacity. “My family and I look forward to getting to know the CTMC team and become active members of this community,” Huenergardt said.
