The Alzheimer’s Association-Capital of Texas Chapter has several volunteer facilitated support groups for caregivers coping with Alzheimer’s in Hays County Recently, Arveda Alzheimer’s Family Care in Buda, 645 FM 967, was added to the list.
Carol Hering and Kim Terracina will facilitate the group.The meetings are slated to last about an hour and will take place at the facility on the first Wednesday of every month at noon. There is no charge to attend.
Although Arveda Alzheimer’s Family Care opened it’s doors on Aug. 5, the staff has a combined total of more than 30 years experience providing personal care to seniors and particularly seniors with Alzheimer’s.

Capital of Texas Alzheimer’s Association Caregiver Support Groups available in San Marcos include the First United Methodist Church, 129 West Hutchison Street. The group meets the third Thursday of the month at 6 p.m. The First Baptist Church, 325 McCarty Lane, also has a support group that meets the fourth Monday of every month at 10 a.m. For information on either group, call Sara Nichols at (512) 828-2984.
There is also an Alzheimer’s Association-Capital of Texas Chapter Caregiver Support Group in Wimberley at the Wimberley Presbyterian Church, 956 FM 2325, which meets the second Thursday of every month at 1 p.m. For information on this group, call Linda Germain at (512) 847-0837.
