River City Ballet to hold angel auditions for Nutcracker performance

The River City Ballet will hold auditions for angels for its annual holiday performances of the Nutcracker. The auditions are open to any child 6-9 years old and will be held at the Central Texas Ballet Conservatory, 101 East Hopkins Street, on Oct. 23. at noon. Angels do not need to have previous dance experience.

Auditions are open to children in San Marcos and are also open, but not limited to, children in the surrounding regions of  Southeast and Southwest Austin, Kyle, Buda, Hays, Driftwood, Dripping Springs, Lockhart, Luling, San Marcos, Seguin, New Braunfels, Wimberley, and Schertz.

Children who would like to be angels in the production must be able to commit to one-hour rehearsals every Saturday morning, excluding the post Thanksgiving weekend, until The Nutcracker performances. The performance will take place on Dec. 18 at 7 p.m and Dec. 19 at 4 p.m. Performers also are needed at the dress rehearsal on the evening of Dec. 17.

The River City Ballet is the youth ballet company of Central Texas. Their production of The Nutcracker has been a local holiday tradition for many years.
