Nash Buick-GMC offers fundraising opportunity for Rattlers

STAFF REPORT

Chuck Nash Buick-GMC has partnered with the San Marcos High School football team in an initiative to help provide players and coaches with equipment, a monetary donation and an opportunity to raise up to $10,000.

Football kits consisting of equipment bags, five-gallon water coolers, dry erase coaches’ clipboards and t-shirts were provided to the team by the auto dealership.

The San Marcos High School and other schools in the University Interscholastic League (UIL), also have the chance to raise funding of up to $10,000 through the sales of $5 raffle tickets. Teams throughout Central Texas have been given the opportunity to sell tickets through various GMC dealerships.

One purchaser in the South Central region of the country will win a 2011 GMC Terrain. A second-prize winner will be selected from the area to win a home entertainment package consisting of a flat-screen television and a Blu-Ray player.

All the proceeds will go directly to the participating teams and can be used in any way they see fit, but the funds generally are used to upgrade practice fields and equipment.

“Buick-GMC and youth football — it’s a great combination,” said Chuck Nash of Chuck Nash Buick-GMC. “We are proud to be able to help the kids in our community by donating equipment and giving them the opportunity to raise much needed funds for their league. We are excited to be part of the effort this year, and anticipate a fun-filled season of San Marcos High School Rattlers football.”
