State authorities have arrested a San Marcos man on charges of child pornography possession and distribution.
David Alfred Lexen, 36, is in Hays County Jail after being arrested by the state attorney general’s cyber crimes unit.
The attorney general’s office said Lexen’s arrest stemmed from a referral by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, which notified the cyber crimes unit that Lexen’s e-mail account contained images that were believed to be child pornography.
Cyber crimes nnit investigators searched Lexen’s San Marcos residence, finding numerous images that appeared to be illicit and depicted young children. Lexen stored the images in his e-mail accounts’ folders.
Investigators said they also suspect that Lexen sent and received additional child pornography images via various e-mail accounts.
Child pornography promotion is a second-degree felony punishable by two to 20 years in prison and up to a $10,000 fine. Child pornography possession is a third-degree felony punishable by two to 10 years in prison and up to a $10,000 fine.Email | Print
