The San Marcos City Council will continue deliberations on the selection of a new city manager next week following a meet and greet and interviews with three finalists Wednesday night.
The city council interviewed Jeffrey Howell, city manager of Kilgore, Scott Moore, city manager of Peoria, Ill., and Jim Nuse, city manager of Round Rock, who were selected as finalists for the post after preliminary interviews a week ago.
More than 100 residents met the candidates at an hour and a half long public meet and greet at the City of San Marcos Conference Center.
The city council then met in executive session for about two hours following the reception, heard presentations and continued interviewing the candidates.
The public meet and greet provided an opportunity for those in attendance to share feedback on comment cards. Kay Stroman of the Stroman Group LLC, the search firm coordinating the process, summarized the public comments to the city council as part of the session.
The city council will utilize the public comments in their deliberations. A meeting will be scheduled next week to continue the process.
