Central Texas Medical Center (CTMC) will offer a free healthy cooking demonstration, “Autumn Cooking Tricks and Treats,” on Sept. 29 from 5-7 p.m. in the CTMC Community Classroom, 1301 Wonder World Drive.
The demonstration will be conducted by CTMC’s dietary staff and includes three unique recipes, along with samples and copies of the recipes.
“Fall is a busy season for entertaining and it’s important to maintain healthy eating habits,” said Alicia Westfall, CTMC’s food and nutrition Manager. “People tend to eat more during the fall, so making the right food choices can keep a healthy lifestyle in balance year round.”
The CTMC Institute for Healthy Living offers several programs that emphasize healthy living and eating, including Take Off Pounds Sensibly (TOPS), the LoneStart Wellness Initiative, Way 2 Go Kids and Boot Camp.
Another healthy living holiday cooking demonstration is planned for December.
