The San Marcos Rattlers will take on a tough assignment Friday night as they attempt to earn their first win of the high school football season at Bobcat Stadium.
The Rattlers, 0-2, will take on Bastrop, led by senior quarterback Josiah Monroe. In three games, Monroe has 1,019 total offensive yards — 790 passing and 229 rushing. Monroe has thrown 11 touchdown passes and run for two touchdowns.
Bastrop, 2-1, winning their last two games by a combined score of 114-28.
Hays, 2-1, is playing Friday night (7:30 p.m.) at Hutto. The Rebels are 2-1 after last Friday night’s 34-17 win against San Marcos. Hutto is 3-0.
Lehman will put its 2-1 record on the line Friday night at Bob Shelton Stadium against San Antonio Jefferson. Lehman will meet Hays next Friday night at the same location.
Wimberley is going on the road to La Vernia Friday night. The Texans are 3-0, averaging 43.3 points per game.
Dripping Springs also is going on the road Friday night. The Tigers are going to Lockhart. Dripping Springs is 1-2, trying to snap a two-game losing streak. Lockhart is 0-3, having scored a total of 20 points this season.
San Marcos Academy (SMA) is playing its third straight home game Friday night when Texas School for the Deaf goes to Ingram/A+FCU Stadium. The Bears are 2-1, winning their last two games. SMA beat St. Dominic Savio, 63-14, last Friday.Email | Print
