Victory Gardens meeting set on drainage project

The City of San Marcos Capital Improvements Department will hold the second public meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 23 to discuss proposed improvements to the Willow Springs Creek Drainage Channel in the Victory Garden neighborhood

Citizens and property owners within the project area are encouraged to attend and participate in the event to be held at the Southside Community Center, 518 S. Guadalupe. The presentation will be in English and Spanish.

The purpose of the meeting is to distribute information and obtain public input concerning the proposed improvements along the Willow Springs Creek drainage channel from Ellis Street past Mckie Street.

Preliminary drawings will be on display. Staff will seek resident suggestions on the appearance of the Willow Springs Creek drainage channel and to identify areas with
serious drainage problems.

City of San Marcos Capital Improvements staff and consultants from Loomis Partners and Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. will host the meeting with Spanish translators available to assist anyone requiring language accommodations.
