San Marcos CISD recently announced the recipients of grants from the A+ Education Foundation. The foundation awarded more than $61,000 to educators in Central Texas, four of whom are from San Marcos CISD.
The grantees included De Zavala Elementary School’s Diana Garcia for her project “Read Across: With a Writer’s Celebration and Mendez Elementary School’s Sandra Reyes for “Gentleman’s Club.”
The two grant recipients from San Marcos High School were Chris Cooper for “Project Draw, Part 2” and Jacqueline Norman for “College Ready and Confident.”
The grantees were recognized at the annual SMCISD convocation on Aug. 17.
The A+ Federal Credit Union started the A+ Education Foundation in 2005 to provide grants for full-time educators of students from pre-kindergarten though grade 12. The grants help by funding the cost of materials, programs and trainings for educators in the communities served by the A+ Federal Credit Union.Email | Print
