The City of San Marcos is once again seeking nominations of outstanding local women for induction into the San Marcos Women’s Hall of Fame. The deadline for nomination submissions is Aug.31 at 5 p.m.
Nominee qualifications are based on volunteer work, service to others and to the community. Entry forms are available at the Parks and Recreation office at the Grant Harris Jr. Building, 401 East Hopkins Street. Forms also are available online at sanmarcos.gov on the Women’s Hall of Fame page.
Information about the nominees may be gathered through friends, business associates, co-workers, church and family.
Nominations should be mailed to City of San Marcos, Parks and Recreation Department, 630 East Hopkins Street, San Marcos, Texas 78666. The forms may also be dropped off at the Grant Harris Jr. Building.
The annual ceremony and reception will be hosted by the Parks and Recreation Department and held at the San Marcos Activity Center, 501 East Hopkins Street, on Nov. 3 at 6 p.m. The reception will honor women who have made contributions to the San Marcos community through personal achievement and community service.
The San Marcos Women’s Hall of Fame was started in 1984 to pay tribute to women for their volunteerism in the community.
