STAFF REPORT
Hays County and the Central Texas Resource Conservation and Development Area are sponsoring a free tire-recycling event at the Lowe’s parking lot in Kyle, 5753 Kyle Parkway, Saturday from 8 a.m.-4 p.m.
Residents may bring up to 10 tires per household. Tires must be 20 inches or under in diameter.
“Recycled tires can be turned into lawn furniture, landscaping materials and paving materials, while those dumped by the side of the road become havens for mosquitoes, rats and snakes,” said Jerry Pinnix, director of Recycling and Solid Waste for Hays County. “This is a great opportunity to clear out your garage, clean up your yard, and help the environment.”
Participants may stay in their cars for this drive-up event. The unwanted tires will be off-loaded for them.
