Art project at library will turn 'trash' into art

This shadow box is one example of reusing objects to make art.

The San Marcos Public Library, 625 East Hopkins Street,  invites kids aged six to 16 years old to turn trash into treasures with local artist Beverly Mangham Thursday at 2 p.m.

Participants will create art from discarded objects and get creative with objects often regarded as trash or functionless. Mangham will be there to guide the young artists.

For more information on the event, call the San Marcos Public Library at (512) 393-8210.
