To the editor:
It is my understanding that John Thomadies has announced his bid for the San Marcos mayoral position. And, though his mayoral bid might be a refreshing change from our current mayor for many citizens of San Marcos, it is not enough of a change to stem the economic and environmental challenges facing our futures. Without a challenge from one of our many talented citizens to offer a more “out of the beltway” approach to the operations of city government, it appears that John Thomaides is a shoe in. After the last election cycle, I, for the most part decided to not run for office again but continue to do what I do best, community activism. Yet I propose to challenge John Thomaides for mayor of San Marcos if no one else is willing to step up to the plate.
