Registration deadline for Academy football camp is today

Former Houston Oilers coach Ed Biles will lead San Marcos Academy’s first Bear Club All-Pro Football Camp this month.

The camp will be held 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 19 at the academy campus, 2801 Ranch Road 12. Sponsored by Austin Extreme Graphics and Central Texas Collision in Buda, the camp will also feature former Texas Copperheads area football coach Bryan Blake and San Marcos Academy head coach Les Davis, formerly of Canyon High School in New Braunfels.

“One of my goals when I started here was to give all kids the opportunity to attend a free football summer camp and increase their skill levels prior to the upcoming season,” Ronald Oswalt, the academy’s athletics development director.

The event is open to eight to 12th grade athletics who want to improve their skills and be seen by recruiters, Oswalt said. For information, visit the website here or e-mail Oswalt here.
