Updated: Kyle police find missing girl

Kyle police have found 12-year-old Emily Nicole Cherkitz, who had been missing from her home since early Tuesday morning.

The Kyle Police Department (KPD) began searching for Cherkitz, who is 5-foot-7, 146 pounds, after learning of her disappearance Tuesday morning.

Cherkitz was was found as a result of a report by a citizen of a child walking along FM 1626 (Kyle Parkway) in Kyle. Kyle officials said she was was unharmed and soon to be re-united with her family.

The girl’s family said she may be have been attempting to find transportation to the state of Washington.
