Four San Marcos CISD transportation staffers brought home top honors from the Central Texas Association of Pupil Transportation Roadeo held on April 10. The rodeo was for personnel in Regions 13 and 20. The competition is based on safe driving maneuvers and written knowledge of procedures.
Three San Marcos CISD bus drivers earned outstanding recognitions, including Teresa Ybarra, Juan Cruz, and Kyle Frank. Bus monitor Valerie Hurtado also won outstanding recognition.
In the transit category, Teresa Ybarra won second place with Kyle Frank taking third place honors. Ybarra also had the highest written score in both regions.
Driver Juan Cruz and monitor Valerie Hurtado took third place in the special needs category and also earned highest written score honors.
“All of our staff who placed will now be eligible to compete in the Texas Association of Pupil Transportation competition at the state level in Arlington on June 17-19.,” said Ernest Martinez, San Marcos CISD’s Associate Director of Transportation. “I am very proud of our folks.”
