The San Marcos High School Rattler Symphonic Band does its stuff.

After winning first division ratings for both marching band and concert band, the San Marcos High School (SMHS) Rattler Band was given the sweepstakes award by the University Interscholastic League (UIL). The award is given only to band programs that have received the highest ratings.
The Rattler symphonic non-varsity band was given six first division ratings from two panels of judges. The band was judged on its performance at the UIL concert and sightreading competition on April 6. The band is under the baton of Damon Knight.
The Rattler Varsity Honor Band also was also awarded a first division overall rating at the competition. They are under the direction of Kelly Rushfeldt.A proud SMHS Symphonic Band displays its award.
