LWV state convention this weekend in San Marcos

The San Marcos Area League of Women Voters (LWV) is the host to the LWV-Texas Convention this weekend at the Embassy Suites and City of San Marcos Conference Center.

The convention will run from Friday through Sunday.

Two events will launch the convention on Friday. The festivities will begin with an excursion to Jacob’s Well Friday from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Jacob’s Well is the longest known underground cave in Texas, supporting aquatic species with its artesian spring. Tickets for the event are $20.

Friday night, the San Marcos LWV is sponsoring “A Night to Remember,” an evening at the Wittliff Collection at Texas State’s Alkek Library, from 6-9 p.m. The evening will begin with a cocktail hour from 6-7 p.m., a fajita buffet from 7-8 p.m. and entertainment by Salsa Del Rio from 8-9 p.m. Tickets for the event are $40.
