Rotary Club sponsored job fair slated for activity center

The Rotary Club of Greater San Marcos, Workforce Solutions Rural Capital Area,  the San Marcos Area Chamber of Commerce and the City of San Marcos have joined forces to stage a job fair for the community at the San Marcos Activity Center, 501 East Hopkins Street, on April 22 from noon to 6 p.m.

This is the sixth year that the Rotary Club of Greater San Marcos has sponsored the job fair as a community service project. This year’s event will have space for 40 employer’s booths.  Businesses wishing to participate can still reserve a booth for $75.

Workforce Solutions Rural Capital Area staff will be at the job fair to register applicants and counsel them as to which employers to visit based on their qualifications and experience. There will be a separate private interview area available for immediate interviews.

Job training resources will be at the fair, as well. Austin Community College will have staff present to discuss applicant training options. Gary Job Corps staff also will be on hand to discuss programs available at the Gary Job Corps Center.
