SMHS student breaks hurdle record

STAFF REPORT

San Marcos High School (SMHS) sophomore Amanda Hunt recently broke a 28-year-old track record at the relays held at Manor High School on March 26. Hunt placed first in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 15.45.

The record had been held at SMHS by Shari Fauver in 1982 with a time of 15.5.

The SMHS track and field team is coached by Elloy Collazo, with Skip Gilkerson coaching the hurdlers.
