STAFF REPORT

It is often said that wishing won’t make it so, but in the case of raising money for the San Marcos Education Foundation (SMEF), wishing with a coin at the fountain at Tres Hermanas couldn’t hurt.

The coins thrown by restaurant patrons are gathered up each month and matched by Tres Hermanas proprietor David Chiu and his family.

“Our children’s education is the most important investment that I can make as a business owner and community leader,” said Chiu. “Our customers can make a wish by tossing a coin into the fountains and then the San Marcos Education Foundation makes that wish come true by investing these coins in our schools.”

Chiu is also on the San Marcos CISD Board of Trustees.

The San Marcos Education Foundation is a non-profit corporation created to provide financial assistance and support for San Marcos CISD. For more information about SMEF, visit www.SMEFonline.org, or call (512) 393-6930.
