A stretch of Comanche Street will be closed to through traffic starting Monday for about four weeks for installation of a sewer line.
The San Marcos City Council earlier this year awarded a $81,778 contract to Marble Falls-based Haley Nelson Construction LLC. The job includes replacing an 8-inch wastewater line that runs along the street.
The work will shut Comanche from Woods Street to about 200 feet past Lindsey Street. Residents who live on the segment will have access to their driveways and mailboxes, the city says.
Traffic will be detoured to N. Guadalupe Street, N. Fredericksburg Street, Pat Garrison Street, W. Woods Street and North Street to avoid the area.
