Unable to get it working offensively, the Texas State baseball team lost, 4-0, at Texas Christian Tuesday night.
The Bobcats managed only six hits against TCU, none of those coming after the fifth inning. The Bobcats never moved a runner past second base.
Brian Borski pitched five innings for the Bobcats, allowing three runs and ten hits. The loss dropped Borski to 1-4. Paul Gerrish pitched 5 2/3 shutout innings in his start for the Horned Frogs, allowin six hits. Trent Appleby picked up his first save of the year by retiring all ten batters he faced, three by strikeout.
TCU scored single runs in the second, fourth, fifth and sixth innings.
The Bobcats fell to 11-8 overall, while TCU improved to 16-4.
Texas State will return home for the first time in two weeks for a three-game series against Lamar this weekend. The series will start with a 6:30 p.m. game Friday night. The two teams will play again Saturday at 2 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m.Email | Print
