The cast for La Putain Avec Les Fleurs.
The University Arts Encore Series at Texas State will present a moment of “junk melodrama” on March 30, when RoHo Productions’ quirky La Putain Avec Les Fleurs takes the stage 7:30 p.m. in Evans Auditorium.
The theatrical performance is said to defy easy description. La Putain Avec Les Fleurs features an explosion of song, dance, pantomime, clowning, puppetry and a big French bear.
The action centers around a troupe of vagabond performers in 1940s France known as “Theatre Des Funambules,” along with their live acoustic avant-garde band, Bric-a-Brac. Together, they present the story of Baptiste, the world’s greatest clown, and his journey to become a real man.
Admission to the performance is $10 for general admission, $5 for students. Free event parking is available in the Pleasant Street Parking Garage.
