The women’s golf team at Texas State enters the final round of the John Kirk/Panther Intercollegiate in ninth place after carding a 637 (320-317) team score on the Eagle’s Landing Country Club in Stockbridge, GA, Monday afternoon.
Tournament-host Georgia State holds an eight-stroke lead over the 13-team field after shooting a combined 601 through 36 holes. Daytona State College is in second at 609, followed by Arkansas-Little Rock (613), Tennessee-Chattanooga (622) and Ball State (626).
Valdis Jonsdottir leads Texas State after two rounds, tied for 21st overall with rounds of 77 and 79 for a 156 total through Monday. Trine Mortensen is tied in 31st after shooting a 160 (82-78) through two rounds. Krista Puisite finished one stroke behind Mortensen with rounds of 80 and 81. Caitlin Bliss shot a pair of 81s for a 162, tied in 41st, while Gabby de Reuck is tied in 54th after carding a 166 (87-79).
Katinka Dufour, who is competing as an individual for Texas State, shot a 167 (84-83) and is tied in 60th.
