CTMC features seminars on Diabetes Alert Day

Central Texas Medical Center (CTMC) will host a free community diabetes education event Tuesday during Diabetes Alert Day. The event will take place in CTMC’s Community Classroom from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The day will feature free blood glucose and body mass index screenings, as well as healthy tips for those living with diabetes.

Registration starts at 9 a.m., followed by lectures on diabetes on topics like “Who Should Exercise: Inhale Exercise – Exhale Diabetes.” There will be cooking demonstrations, as well. The seminar “Diabetes: By the Numbers”  will also be available in Spanish.

Vendors including Sanofi Aventis, CCS Medical, Novo Nordisk, Johnson & Johnson, CTMC’s Institute for Advanced Wound Care and Animas Corporation will be present from 9 a.m. until noon.
