KYLE — Heavy rains Saturday morning forced Thunderhill Raceway to postpone its season opener. The opener will take place next Saturday, March 27.
“We really tried to move forward with this event,” said Mary Ann Naumann, THR’s Owner and Promoter. “I know the drivers and fans were really ready for racing. We’ve had great weather all week, but unfortunately Mother Nature took control overnight and changed our plans. Even though the weather looks like it will clear up later today, there’s lots of standing water on the track and it’s in really bad shape.”
Grandstand gates will open on March 27 a little earlier than usual – at 4 p.m. Qualifying will start at 4:30 p.m., followed by a driver autograph session at 5:15 p.m. The racing action will begin with heat races at 6 p.m. and opening ceremony and feature races will take place immediately afterwards.Email | Print
