In support of the San Marcos Education Foundation’s (SMEF) annual fundraising campaign, CenturyLink awarded a lead gift to help kick off the event.

“CenturyLink has always been an outstanding supporter of the San Marcos Education Foundation,” said SMEF Executive Director Daniel Guerrero. “The San Marcos Education Foundation has been blessed to have John Navarrette serve on our board of directors since 1995 and we intend to invest CenturyLink’s gift directly into our classrooms.”

The foundation is a non-profit corporation created to provide assistance and financial support  for San Marcos CISD with funds for programs and activities beyond the school’s operating budget. Each year, the foundation allocates nearly $50,000 in grant funding to support educational initiatives and resources that may not be met within the school district’s budget process. For more information on the foundation, visit or call (512) 393-6930.

  1. Though CenturyLink reorganizes and changes its name every few years, they remain a community-oriented company and John Navarette exemplifies servant leadership. As an educator, parent, and a citizen of San Marcos, I deeply appreciate the consistent support offered by CenturyLink and all of those who participate in the San Marcos Education Foundation. You make a difference for our children and our future. Thank you!
