The District 17-4A season begins Wednesday for the San Marcos High School baseball team, which goes to Hays for a meeting between two league favorites.
The game was postponed Tuesday due to rain and rescueduled for a day later.
The Rattlers are 9-8 overall after winning three of five games at the Austin ISD Tournament during the past weekend. The largest San Marcos win came in a 16-2 decision against Austin Lanier.
The Rattlers also beat Eagle Pass, 9-8, in eight innings. Tyler Till sent the game into extra innings for San Marcos with a homer. Peyton Pringle scored the winning run in the seventh on an RBI single.
San Marcos defeated Marble Falls, 7-6, scoring four times in the sixth inning and once in the seventh. E.J. Alba homered for the Rattlers, while Ryan Schweers was the winning pitcher.
