HCSO promotes Strain to patrol lieutenant

Hays County Sheriff Tommy Ratliff promoted Sergeant Ronnie Strain last week to the position of Lieutenant of Patrol.

Strain began his Hays County law enforcement career as a patrol deputy in the Hays County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) in October 1998. In October 2001, Strain was promoted to sergeant in the patrol division. His most recent assignment was as an eastside patrol sergeant.

In February 2009, Strain was acknowledged as the HCSO’s outstanding patrol supervisor at its 2009 Best of the Best ceremonies. Strain was nominated for the award by his peers and selected by Ratliff, who congratulated him on his accomplishments in the HCSO.

Strain and his wife Christine live in Wimberley with their two children, Nolan and Leslie, who are students at Wimberley High School. Both children are involved in the Wimberley High School Band, and Ronnie and Christine are actively involved with the Wimberley Band Boosters.
