STAFF REPORT

Retired Marine Colonel Prentice A. Lindsay recently resigned from the Hays County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) Training Academy board after serving for 14 years. Several of those years were served as chairman.

In a small going away ceremony, Hays County Sheriff Tommy Ratliff, Chief Deputy Sherman Brodbeck and Sergeant Terry Carter honored Lindsay for his dedication and contributions to the academy.

The Hays County Training Academy began 19 years ago and is licensed by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education. It conducts basic peace officer courses, as well as basic corrections officer courses each year.  A training committee, which became the academy board, was then put together to oversee and approve the classes.

Lindsay and his wife are planning to travel with their free time.
