STAFF REPORT

Two San Marcos High School (SMHS) musicians, Dwaylan Applewhite and Katy Whitbeck,  were honored by San Marcos Mayor Susan Narvaiz and the city council for their selection to the prestigious All-State Choir. Whitbeck set a school record by being selected for the honor three years in a row.

Whitbeck and Applewhite are also members of the San Marcos High School Quartet. If you would like to hear a sampling of their accomplished voices visit  http://www.youtube.com/applewhite2010, which renders their appearance at the AT&T Center in San Antonio to sing the national anthem for an American Hockey League game. Applewhite and Whitbeck are the two on the right in the video.
