Three SMHS seniors are National Merit finalists

Three San Marcos High School seniors were notified that they have been named finalists for the 2010 National Merit Scholarships. Connor Wilson, Irene Morse and Henry Finch have received letters from the National Merit Scholarship program alerting them of their new status. The school will receive certificates for presentation.

National Merit semifinalists were named in September 2009. The students who met the requirements then advanced to finalist standing. The finalists will now be considered for National Merit Scholarships offered for 2010.

There are more than 15,000 finalists across the nation being considered for 8,200 Merit Scholarships. The program will start mailing scholarship offers to the students in March.
